Hey, Jo Wrapal here!
Surprised to hear from me? Exhilarated? Tantalized? You should be. Because it’s St. Paddy’s Day, that cherished holiday where we all get blackout drunk and call out sick the next morning. Or, as I like to call it… a Tuesday. As a big shot director, I’m used to mixing business with pleasure, and you can do the same by celebrating at these amazing bars, which also happen to be Wrapal locations!
Still with me? Let’s do it.
5. Revived 1930’s Spanish Style Library Wine Bar
First off, head to the old V Wine Room, a Spanish style building that was once home to one of Charlie Chaplain’s studios. That’s right, a legendary filmmaker, just like yours truly. It got remodeled as this very luxurious wine library with a vintage charm that makes it look and feel like you’re in New York City. You know, that one city that’s like LA but not as good.
4. The Work Bar
A working bar for a working man, now that’s friggin’ American! This comfortable, spacious multipurpose location can transform into a bar, an art show, a sports lounge, a small private event… everything except Optimus Prime. They really should get going on that one. Inside, there’s a beautiful walnut woodwork with a variety of old fashioned items that give it a speakeasy feel, for those truly classy individuals like myself.
3. The Mint
Next up, the Mint. It’s warm and intimate, just like… Well, this is a family friendly blog, but you get the picture. This nightclub has helped spawn the careers of many artists like The Wallflowers, for all you hipsters who are back to thinking the ‘90s are cool again. It also has a sweet lounge in the rear for those of you hoping to “get lucky.” …What? It’s a St. Patrick’s Day joke. Lighten up.
2. The Historic Basement & Rooftop Bar
So…remember that Sopranos finale when you’re not sure if Tony got whacked? That’s right, I just spoiled the ending. Deal with it. Anyway, it reminds of me of this little beauty. A historic basement and rooftop that feels like a diner but has five rooms, including a piano, boiler room, pool table, and an old telephone booth. You remember, those things that existed back when you had an AOL account.
- Blue Moon Hookah Lounge
This lounge’s decadent decor is guaranteed to set the perfect magical ambiance, slowing things down after a hot night out. In Millennial speak, that translates to “being so chill.” Whether you’re feeling a club, bar, or lounge setting, Blue Moon Hookah offers everything you need and a bag of chips. Man, chips sound good. Where can I get some? Where’s my intern? Why am I typing everything I’m saying?
Well, I think this thing is finally done. Been writing it this entire morning! Seriously, how do you non-successful-artist types work all day? Alright… time for my 11am scotch. Maybe I’ll even dye it green.
Have a happy St. Patricks’ Day, everyone! Bottoms up!
