Gabriel Fonseca, manager of Two Warehouses Connected, is a property manager, actor, and soon-to-be father here to talk about his life and location!
Hello Gabriel, how did you come upon the space and open up shop? Tell us more about your journey.
My friend Mark purchased the property recently and is doing some renovations on the office space. While that’s going on he thought it would be a good idea to rent out the space for film shoots and art shows. He asked me to help out because of my background working in locations. When I looked at the space I fell in love with it. I had been looking for a warehouse space to film a short I was producing about a year ago and this spot would have been perfect. So I knew it was a location that would pop.
What’s the most random thing you’ve hosted here?
We have an Art Show with some young street artist that we are putting together that I’m very excited about but I can’t say too much at this point. We have a music video being shot here in a few weeks that was a pretty high concept from the way the director described it, I’m looking forward to seeing how he pulls it off.
What would you say to people who are thinking about opening up their location to creatives?
If you have a space, make it work for you even when you’re not working. You know what I mean. It’s also great just meeting creative people from all walks of life, everyone has a lesson or a story to tell that we can all learn from. If you’re open, you may even meet a future collaborator.
What are some of the benefits of listing and booking with Wrapal?
For me, the peace of mind that a check isn’t gonna bounce from a renter and I’ll be left with no recourse. Peace of mind is priceless. Also, since listing the location on Wrapal I’ve had a lot more inquiries.
What do you do when you’re not managing this space?
I work for Film This doing location permits and surveys. I also Act. I have a national commercial for Autozone playing now https://www.ispot.tv/ad/A4wc/autozone-fix-finder and had a small recurring role on Amazon Studios Goliath. I stay busy working on shorts with my friends and classmates. Right now my main focus is getting my house ready for my Wife and my’s first child. She is due in October. It’s very exciting.
Is there a motto or philosophy you live by?
A lyric from a Biggie song “stay far from timid, only make move’s when your heart’s in it and live the phrase sky is the limit”
Would you rather go back in time and meet your ancestors, or go into the future and meet your great grandchildren?
The future, always go forward. I would love to meet my grandchildren and see what kind of world we leave them.
